Food Grade
Lakwijk Kunststoffen is an important supplier to the food industry. Products that come into contact with food must meet strict European requirements.
These requirements are summarised in the Food Grade standard - the most important European standard for food safety and material traceability. The rules include demands regarding material properties related to migration, meaning that no transfer of plastic to food may occur. They also include requirements for traceability, processing steps and documentation.
Food Grade is important to Lakwijk Kunststoffen. We therefore periodically review our processes to continue meeting all evolving Food Grade requirements.
This made an ideal internship assignment for technical business administration student Koen van Empel. This month, Koen completed his research and thesis, and we continue to be fully compliant in the field of Food Grade.
