At Lakwijk Kunststoffen, we believe that sustainability begins with the choices you make every day. As a wholesaler of plastics and a specialist in processing plastic semi-finished products, we are committed to a responsible future, with minimal waste, the lowest possible energy consumption, and a strong focus on the sustainable employability of our employees.
Minimising waste: residual material as a raw material
When processing plastics, residual material is unavoidable. We minimise leftovers by combining (sawing) orders and optimising the use of standard sizes. The remaining materials and waste are not simply discarded. We carefully separate our residual streams and ensure that they can be reused as circular raw materials. By designing our processes intelligently and preventing waste as much as possible, we actively contribute to a circular plastics value chain.
Energy: efficient and conscious use
Energy is essential to our work, but wasting it is not. That is why we continuously invest in energy-efficient machinery and optimise our production processes and ways of working. This includes smart sawing and milling strategies, efficient planning, and conscious energy use at all levels of the organisation. Our building and installations are also being made more sustainable step by step, with the aim of reducing CO₂ emissions and minimising our ecological footprint.

Social involvement
Lakwijk Kunststoffen also contributes to a better society beyond the walls of our company. Every year we allocate a budget to support various charities and social initiatives. This support ranges from local sports clubs and community projects to international organizations that focus on health, education and equal opportunities.
We have had a long-standing partnership with UNICEF. We participate in the project “Plastic Bricks in Ivory Coast”, in which construction bricks are pressed from collected plastic waste. This project creates multiple benefits: for the environment, employment and education through proper classrooms.
In addition to financial support, we produced replicas of the bricks and water pumps for two UNICEF projects, helping to attract additional partners.
