Industrial plastics

Industrial plastics, also known as engineering plastics, constitute a broad category of synthetic materials that have been specifically developed for industrial applications.

Advanced Engineering Plastics

In addition to traditional industrial plastics (General Engineering Plastics, abbreviated as GEP) such as HMPE, PA, POM, and PETP, there are also more advanced materials, known as Advanced Engineering Plastics, abbreviated as AEP.

Transparent plastics

There are several plastics available in a transparent form. PVC and Polystyrene are available in transparent versions, but the most common plastics used in transparent applications are Polycarbonate (such as PC Makroclear, PC Makrolife, and PC 1000), Acrylic, and PETG. These materials are often alternatives to glass. Transparent plastics are impact-resistant or even unbreakable, lightweight, easily bendable when heated or cooled, flexible, and in the case of PVC, chemically resistant.

Construction plastics

The structural plastics PVC, HPE, PP, and PVDF are highly chemically resistant and are very suitable for welding. Therefore, these materials are often used for liquid-tight constructions. The mentioned materials PVC, HPE, PP, and PVDF are primarily used in equipment manufacturing.

Recycled plastics

Plastics have an image problem, partly due to issues like the plastic pollution in our oceans. However, in many cases, plastic is a more environmentally friendly choice than the alternatives, and developments in recycling and making products biodegradable are progressing rapidly.
