Protective covers for ProRail
In collaboration with ProRail, we developed protective covers for route screens several years ago. We were now allowed to make crystal clear, unbreakable polycarbonate hoods for them again.
This reduces damage caused by vandalism and the screens are protected so that the traveler is not inconvenienced.
Lakwijk Kunststoffen manufactures products from technical plastics, but also from the transparent plastics acrylic, PETG and polycarbonate.
For example, we manufacture these protective hoods from polycarbonate, but also machine hoods or screens for other applications. This is done by milling, bending and gluing.
Safety glazing is another ideal application.
Polycarbonate has excellent fire-retardant properties and is the only transparent plastic that retains its properties down to -30 degrees. The material is no less than 250 times more impact resistant than glass of the same thickness.
