HDPE 300
Product Description
Polyethylene (HDPE)
Polyethylene is also known as High Density Polyethylene, abbreviated as HDPE. PE does not absorb moisture; in fact, it is moisture-repellent and can be used at temperatures ranging from -50°C to +80°C. The well-known black grade is resistant to sunlight (UV radiation) and other weather influences and can therefore be used outdoors on a permanent basis. Polyethylene has a low density compared to other thermoplastic materials. It is tough, has excellent notch impact strength even at low temperatures, and offers very good sliding and friction properties.
PE is excellently weldable. In addition, polyethylene is wear-resistant and highly chemically resistant. PE has good anti-adhesive properties. Due to its excellent price-to-performance ratio, PE—together with PVC and PP—is one of the most widely used plastics in industry. The material has a non-polar surface and is therefore not suitable for bonding. It has limited compressive strength (creep behavior) and a high coefficient of thermal expansion (limited dimensional stability).
The material is suitable for tank construction, equipment manufacturing, containers and barrels, cover plates, fenders/impact edges in industrial kitchens, and loading platforms (truck beds).
