PTFE

Since as early as 1938, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) has been the plastic of choice for a wide variety of products. PTFE is often used in critical applications where high temperatures, chemical resistance and low friction are required.

Advantages of PTFE:

Very low coefficient of friction
Outstanding chemical resistance
Non-stick properties (hardly any adhesion)
Wide temperature range: -200 °C to +260 °C
Excellent flexibility
UV-resistant (does not age)
Non-hygroscopic (water absorption < 0.01%)
Virtually chemically inert
Flame-retardant (non-combustible)
Suitable for food contact (food-grade)

Components made from PTFE are highly suitable for applications ranging from the aerospace and automotive industries to fluid handling systems, the semiconductor industry, packaging and food industry, as well as oil, gas and petrochemicals. Versatile PTFE is available in sheet, rod and tube.
